Paula Howard earns honor

Forest Lake resident Paula Howard has been named one of 23 ìWomen to Watchî by The Business Journal, a leading Twin Cities business publication. Howard, 34, is the co-owner of Goff & Howard, Inc., a public relations/public affairs company based in Saint Paul. Howard and the other award winners were selected based on their professional achievements, drive, vision and wisdom.

Howard said the business accomplishment that makes her proudest is building a company based on camaraderie and teamwork.

ìI want to continue to love what I do and the people I do it with,î she said.

Larry Dowell, president of the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, nominated Howard for the award. ìPaula Howard stands out for her ability to adapt to changing circumstances and to help her clients adapt as well, so that they can capitalize on shifts in legislative, media or business directions rather than suffer from them,î Dowell said.

Besides Howard, other winners of this yearís ìWomen to Watchî award include Linda Ahlers, president of Marshall Fieldís; Chris Shea, president of the General Mills Foundation; and Mary Brainerd, CEO and president of HealthPartners. Paula Howard and her husband, Jim Howard, live in Forest Lake with their three children.
