Posted: 8/21/02 FL boy, 12, faces assault chargeCliff Buchan Assault charges are being considered this week against a 12-year-old Forest Lake boy after an incident with another juvenile here on Monday. Police said the boy is accused of assaulting a second boy with a knife and a concrete stone and threatening to get a gun and kill the boy. The incident took place in the 400 block of SE 8th Ave. at 5 p.m. Sgt. Mike Aschenbrener said the dispute involved an argument over which boy had the better bicycle. The police officer said the two boys argued before the 12-year-old went home and took a nine-inch butcher knife from the kitchen and returned to the scene. In the second phase of the dispute, the 12-year-old threw a softball sized concrete stone striking the 14-year-old boy and cutting his arm. Six other neighborhood kids were witnesses to the incident, police said. The boy was apprehended later and taken to the Washington County Jail in Stillwater where he is being held in the juvenile section, police said. Charges of second degree assault are pending, the officer said. Aschenbrener said the incident on Monday was the second time police have dealt with the boy this summer regarding a felony incident.
