Man cut with knife; woman faces possible assault charge

A domestic incident between a man and woman on Dec. 19 could result in felony charges against the woman.

A North St. Paul man, 27, was sliced with a knife during an incident in the municipal parking lot at 10:54 p.m.

Chief of Police David Schwartz said late week police are investigating the incident for possible second or third degree assault charges against the woman, 33, who is from Stacy.

Police said the incident took place when the North St. Paul man confronted the woman who had allegedly broken into his vehicle and was putting clothing owned by the man in the vehicle.

Police said when the man confronted the woman, she allegedly sliced him on the left arm with a knife. She was gone when police arrived, Schwartz said.

Schwartz said the man has an order for protection against the woman on record in Ramsey County.

The man refused treatment for his wound, the chief said.
