Funeral services set Tuesday, Wednesday
for 3 Hugo family members killed in car crash

Dates have been set for the funeral services for three Hugo family members who died in a two-vehicle collision on I-35E in White Bear Township on Friday, Dec. 27. The early-afternoon crash claimed the lives of Erin Kluk, 18; Andrea Kluk, 15; and Robert (Rob) Kluk, 13. They are the children of Robert and Carolyn Kluk of Hugo.

A public funeral service will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the Forest Lake High School gymnasium with a visitation beginning at 4 p.m. A funeral service for family and friends is set for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 1, at Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Scandinavian Cemetery in Forest Lake.
The three Kluk youth were killed when their southbound 1989 Chrysler New Yorker veered out of control, crossed the median and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle. The crash was just north of CR-96 in White Bear Township.

The collision also took the life of Gary Baar, 47, of St. Paul, the driver of the northbound van. Baarís wife, Wendy, 40, was the only survivor of the two-vehicle crash. She was taken to Regions Hospital, St. Paul, and was in fair condition.

Erin Kluk was a graduate of Forest Lake High School and was a freshman at Beloit College in Wisconsin. Andrea Kluk was in the ninth-grade and Rob Kluk was in the seventh grade at Southwest Junior High School in Forest Lake.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Kluk Children Scholarship Fund at Mainstreet Bank, Forest Lake.
