Pearson is new FL park coordinator

Stacy Pearson is the new park coordinator for the city of Forest Lake.

The former Lindstrom park director, Pearson has been on board since June 25.

In the position she will coordinate all of the park programs and functions including overseeing the lifeguard crew on the beach, the weekly farmers market and the summer Arts in the Park series.

Pearson, nationally certified as a playground inspector, said she plans to make sure all equipment in city parks is up to par.

She brings a wealth of experience to the job as a playground designer and a grant writer. Her slate soon will get busier, as the line up for the 2003 Arts in the Park series will be completed in the fall.

Pearson said the Forest Lake Park Board is an asset to the city.

ìThe park board here is extremely hard working,î she said. ìThey put in a lot of volunteer hours.î

Kris Martin is the chairwoman of the park board.

ìSheís been the one helping me get started.î

Throughout the city, Pearson said people have taken the extra step to make her feel welcome.

ìIím really impressed with the the maintenance department, the office staff and city administrator have all been so kind and warm,î she said. ìI think itís a great team.î
