'Odd Couple' up next for Masquers

Neil Simonís ìOdd Coupleî is Masquers Theatre Companyís second production of the summer season.

The comedy, directed by Jean Mornard (Pajama Game 2001) features an 8-member primarily-male cast.

Wes McDonald takes on the role of Oscaróa slobby, divorced sports writer and Joe Hendren takes on the role of Felixóan anal retentive baby photographer.

The show makes comedy of the conflicts between the buddies with opposing priorities on issues such as cleanliness and responsibility.

Mornard said the play will be enjoyed by the audience as most can relate to the show on some level.

She said ìOdd Coupleî is a feel good sort of show.

ìFor both Oscar and Felix there is a really upbeat feeling in the end,î Mornard said.

Volunteers

Masquers Theater Company is in the process of moving its box office. Volunteers are needed to help move boxes.

Those who can help are encouraged to call Deborah Wiersma at 433-4629.

Cast

The cast also features Deborah and Roger Wiersma, Jennifer Oberg, Justin Brink and Matt Jonasen.

Off stage, Tricia Ofeld is the technical coordinator, Susan D. Lange is stage manager and Tiffany Jonasen and Marie Hudon are props mistresses.

Thursday special

ISD 831 Community Services is offering Thursday specials for Masquersí summer shows.

Theater patrons can enjoy a free adult ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket for ìOdd Coupleî on Thursdays July 11 and July 18.

During the week of the show, those wanting to take advantage of the deal need to go to the Community Services office to purchase a tickets. There, patrons will be given vouchers to bring to the show.

For ìThe Wizî later this summer, Community Services will continue with the Thursday special. However, for ìThe Wizî theater patrons will receive a free childrenís ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket.

Shows/Tickets

ìOdd Coupleî hits the stage at 7 p.m. July 11-13 and 18-20 at Forest Lake High School Auditorium.

Adult tickets are $10; senior tickets are $9 and childrenís tickets are $6.

Tickets are available at the Yellow Bus, which can be reached by calling 651-464-2112.

Tickets also are available at the door beginning a half hour before each performance.
