ISD 831 honors retiring employees

ISD 831 on June 5 honored 13 employees who have retired from school service.

The 13 employees have combined service of 320 years to the school district.

The workers were honored at a reception on June 5 at Forest Lake High School. School Board President Bill Bresin thanked the retiring employees and Superintendent Lynn Steenblock presented awards.

The honored retiring employees are:

ïCarol Alshouse, ECFE office assistant, 24 years.

ïLouise Avery, teacher, Forest View Elementary, 25 years.

ïKaren Bakken, AV office assistant, Forest Lake High School, 27 years.

ïDavid Blasko, teacher, high school, 27 years.

ïJoan Butler, food service supervisor, 13 years.

ïRuss Cooper, assistant principal, high school, 25 years.

ïShirley Kroska, administrative assistant, Southwest Junior High School, 30 years.

ïFred Marfell, teacher, Southwest, 25 years.

ïCathleene Morehead, food service office assistant, 27 years.

ïBill Somrock, teacher, high school, 33 years.

ïDorothy Thoeny, cook helper, 30 years.

ïMary Waataja, elementary science office assistant, 22 years.

ïShirley Wachholz, cook manager, 18 years.
