Helicopter aids at crash

The North Memorial helicopter was needed in Forest Lake on Thursday, March 21 after a two-vehicle crash on SW 12th at the entrance to Wal-Mart. Shanon Lyn Wettschreck, 21, Forest Lake, was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital with back and neck injuries, Forest Lake police said this week. She was injured at 11:23 a.m. when her southbound 1988 Toyota traveling in the right lane collided with a northbound 1993 Chevrolet pickup. The pickup, driven by Mary Louise Scott, 52, Marine, was attempting to turn into the Wal-Mart parking lot. A third vehicle driven by Alvin Regal was in the SW 12th St. southbound left lane and waiting to turn to the WestLake Plaza parking area when the crash happened. He was not involved in the crash which remains under investigation.
