FL Chamber comments on city issues

The board of directors of the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce on March 14 passed two business related resolutions at the request of its members.

In one resolution, the board requested the plans for a local community center now forming in Forest Lake ìinclude local businesses in its planning and development stages.î

The resolution is seen as a way to help business and government develop a partnership that will benefit each other and the community.

The second resolution deals with eminent domain.

When property rights of individual businesses are involved with the governmental power of eminent domain, the Chamber board is opposed in principle of eminent domain when it is used to benefit one business over another.
