Posted: 3/27/02 Legion will host Kids ExpoThe Forest Lake American Legion Auxiliary, along with Post 225, will be sponsoring and hosting a kids expo Saturday, April 27 at the American Legion club rooms, 355 W. Broadway Ave. The event is open to the community and children 1-18 years old are encouraged to attend, as well as parents and guardians. There is no charge, but a donation of a non-perishable item for the Forest Lake Food shelf will be accepted. At this Kids Expo, there will be photo IDs taken and fingerprinting of children will be done and given out while supplies last. Photo discs have been donated by Office Max, Forest Lake. There will be many organizations participating in this event, such as The Jacob Wetterling Foundation, The Forest Lake Police and Fire Departments, Forest Lake Explorers, New Beginnings, Forest Lake Youth Service Bureau, Kyoshin Ryu Karate will offer free lessons and self image improvement, Forest Lake library, Forest Lake school district programs such as SAC and Youth Development and other programs. T.C., mascot for the Minnesota Twins will be appearing and Crunch, mascot for the Minnesota Timberwolves will play basketball with kids. Free tickets to Minnesota Lynx womenís basketball also will be given away. McGruff the Crime Dog will also be at the event. Puppeteer Mary Hall will be sharing her talents and the districtís Youth Development program will be presenting a P.A.C.E.R. puppet show.
