FLEA honors veteran teachers

Veteran teachers in ISD 831 were the guests of honor at a special reception hosted by the Forest Lake Education Association on May 8.

The event at American Legion Post 225 honored retiring teachers and teachers with 25 or more years of service in the district. Bill Somrock and Louise Avery have announced plans to retire this year.

Somrock, an English teacher at the high school, has 34 years of service. Avery, a second grade teacher at Forest View, has 26 years of service.

The program also honored 126 teachers who have logged 25 or more years in the district.
