Posted: 11/6/02 Hegberg wins reelection to county boardCliff Buchan Dennis Hegberg won his reelection bid to the Washington County Board and Rhonda Sivarajah claimed a seat on the Anoka County Board on Tuesday. Hegberg, the Forest Lake incumbent from District One, easily defeated challenger Dennis Robinson of Forest Lake. With 18 of 19 precincts reported, Hegberg won 9639 to 5544. In Anoka Countyís new District 6 county board seat for areas west of Forest Lake, Sivarajah topped Dick Swanson of Blaine 8680 to 7389. In two other major Anoka County races, Bruce Andersohn was elected sheriff. He defeated Lino Lakes Police Chief Dave Pecchia, 63,691 to 57,167. Incumbent County Attorney Robert Johnson won reelection over William Marshall, 55,518 to 48,585. In Chisago County, the new sheriff is Todd Rivard. The current chief deputy easily defeated Rick Duncan of Wyoming Township, 13,830 to 5901 with all 23 precincts reported. In a tight race for county attorney, Katherine Johnson of North Branch won the seat with a 9537 to 9276 victory over Timothy Ryan of Lindstrom. In county board contests, District 2 incumbent Bob Vandekamp was defeated by Rick Olseen, 2043 to 1789. In the District 1 seat where Tom Delaney was defeated in the primary election, Lora Walker won the seat on Tuesday with a 2471 to 2100 victory over Brian Greene. District 4 incumbent Ben Montzka of Wyoming, running unopposed, was reelected with 3630 votes.
