Forest Lake girls tie for sixth at SEC Relays

Led by a third-place finish by its combined diving unit, Forest Lake finished in a tie for sixth place at the Suburban East Conference Relays.

Forest Lake tied Park (Cottage Grove) for sixth place with 48 points at Stillwater on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Mounds View won the team title with a score of 132, followed by Woodbury (130), Stillwater (122), Hastings (78) and Roseville (70). White Bear Lake finished last with a score of 30.

Forest Lakeís best performance came from its diving team of Sarah Chaussee, Bri Hubbard and Mindy Sell, which finished third with a combined score of 160.10.

Forest Lake got a fifth-place finish from its 200-yard freestyle relay team of Shannon Esler, Britta Lundborg, Amanda Nelson and Britt Walker. The foursome finished in 1:52.04.

In the 200 backstroke relay, Forest Lakeís unit of Catie Farr, Emily Frerichs, Tracy Kirshenman and Walker placed sixth in 2:12.58. The Rangers also got an eighth-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay from the team of Esler, Alyse Howie, Lundborg and Gloria Van Sloun.

In the 400 freestyle relay, Forest Lakeís Esler, Lundborg, Nelson and Hannah Sparks finished ninth in 4:16.24.

Earlier this season, Forest Lake dropped its first two dual meets of the season.

Blaine defeated the Rangers 98.5-81.5 on Tuesday, Aug. 27. On Thursday, Aug. 29, Centennial downed Forest Lake 94-84.
