Events Saturday in Scandia, Linwood

Tradition continues in the area this Saturday when two communities sponsor their annual town celebrations.

Scandia will celebrate with its annual Taco Daze events. Linwood Family Fun Day is also on tap Saturday.

The Scandia event will include a wide list of activities, led by the annual Boy Scout-sponsored taco fest. The taco food day will take place at Scandia Elementary School this year because of a schedule conflict at the Scandia Town Hall.

A parade in downtown Scandia at 3 p.m. is an event highlight.

The trolley cars from Stillwater will be used on Saturday to help move people from the school to the downtown area.

Meisterís Bar & Grill will also have events for kids and adults, including live outdoor music and a beer garden, plus food.

The events for kids include a sawdust scramble and kids races. A llama exhibition is planned and there will be hair beading and temporary tattoos. Events at Meisterís start at 11 a.m.

In Linwood, the community center complex will be the setting for Family Fun Day. Events include games and plenty of food booths.
