Lake ice goes out April 10 on FL
Lake watchers have officially declared the ice out on Forest Lake at 8:43 p.m. on Thursday, April 10. The declaration was made by lake observers Corbett Johnson and Earl Lellman who followed the progression of the ice break-up last week. Strong southerly winds pushed the last remaining ice pieces to the north shore of First Lake on April 9-10 before the official ice out was called by the two observers. Mickey Corbett, also part of the Johnson lake watch team, reported that Second and Third lakes cleared of ice earlier in the day on April 10, Johnson said.
