Svenkeson's 40 leads Rangers at Stillwater

It hasnít taken sophomore Jacob Svenkeson long to get into the swing of things for the Forest Lake boys golf team.

Svenkeson shot a team-best 40 to help Forest Lake to a seventh-place finish at the first Suburban East Conference meet of the year on Monday at the Stillwater Country Club.

Woodbury won the team title with a score of 155, followed by Stillwater at 156 and White Bear Lake at 158. The Rangers finished with a team score of 172.

Noah Lawson was right behind Svenkeson with a 41 while Brad Lange shot a 45, Nate Denny and Eric Larsen each shot 46 and Ryan Moen chipped in with a 48.

Forest Lake finished fourth in the junior varsity portion of the meet, with Mark Moberg leading the way with a 41 while Andrew Kelley added a 44 and Kyle Lewis a 45.

On Thursday, April 10, Forest Lake finished 16th at the Coon Rapids Invitational at Bunker Hills. Svenkeson shot a team-best 86 while Lewis and Denny each had a 91.
