FL girls basketball team gives awards

Members of the Forest Lake girls basketball team took part in their year-end banquet recently at The Lobster Shop.

Forest Lake finished the season 14-11 and took fifth place in the loaded Suburban East Conference.

Among the awards recognized and received at the banquet were the All-SEC honors. Seniors Lindsey Anderson and Mary Sobiech were each named first-team while Renee Frericks was honorable mention.

The Team MVP went to Anderson while Sobiech, who was third-team All-Metro Defense this season, earned the teamís Defensive MVP award. The Practice Award went to Jenny Kling and the Most Improved Player Award went to Joanna Koski.

Twin sisters Brianna and Laura McMahon were named the captains for next year.
