Columbus Cavaliers win 12 State Fair 4-H trips

It was a good summer for the Columbus Cavaliers 4-H Club as the club has recorded 12 Minnesota State Fair trips. Three other club members won championships at the Anoka County Fair but were too young to go on to the State Fair. Six Cavaliers won State Fair trips with rabbit projects. They are: Brenda Abel, Anna Cassidy, Ashley Quimby, Lisa Abel, Kayla Cox and Megan Svenkeson.

Two club members qualified for State Fair competition in the dog project. They are Amy Hodges and Krista Nelson. Four other State Fair trips were won by club members with special projects. They are: Brenda Abel, veterinary science; Lisa Abel, digital photography; Nathan Hodges, backpacking; and Wendy Prow, fashion review. Dakota Quimby, Sarah Hodges and Jeromy Post all qualified to win State Fair trips but did not meet the age requirements to go on to state.
