FL aviation open house Aug. 16

The second annual public open house at Forest Lake Airport and Daniel A. DePonti Field will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16. The open house is an opportunity for the public to see the airfield and its facilities. The aviation open house will have aircraft on display. There will be free EAA Young Eagle airplane rides for all kids ages 8 to 18. Visitors on Aug. 16 can learn about aviation by talking to local pilots who will be on hand. The day for the family will include refreshments. The Forest Lake Lions Club will be selling hot dogs and hamburgers while Peppermint Parlor & Eatery will have ice cream available. There is no admission charge to the grounds for the open house.
