Supervisor Rudi McCurdy reviewed the organization of the updated Linwood Township code book at the town boardís meeting Tuesday, Nov. 25.

The index is more complete and there is more detail. With the new organization it is easier to add amended sections/ordinances to the code book.

The Linwood board approved an interim use permit for Richard Gabrick to move a mobile home onto his property at 21300 Thames. The reason for the request is to move aging parents closer to his home.

A request was also approved for Scott M. Gilles to build a pole building closer to the front lot line than his house, at 22159 Martin Lake Road NE.

Findings of fact for approval include the drop in elevation on the lot, moving the building back toward the house would place it over the alternate septic site; there would be no access to the rear without crossing the septic lines and well.

A neighbor attending the meeting spoke in support of the request, supporting the location as the best place for the building. The vote was unanimous in favor of the request.

The board unanimously approved the development agreement for Pine Tree Ridge development. Carroll ìBuckî Broadbent, Jr. and Tom Carlisle are jointly developing the land.

Planning and zoning recommended approval of the sketch plan that showed a street into the development and temporary cul-de-sacs of approximately the same length at the end of the east and west branches of the ìT.î

Following the advice of Attorney Gerald Randall, approval is contingent upon finalizing the bond. Final comments are to be made by Randall and Engineer Craig Jochum. Broadbent and Carlisle are also required to guarantee the road for a year.

At the recommendation of P & Z, the board approved a sign permit for the Paul Andersons, who wish to advertise U-pick produce. Granting the permit assumes abiding by the township ordinances.

Joe Broadbent was granted a simple lot split for the 40-acre parcel he owns. The split was granted as a metes and bounds lot split.

A request to build a garage closer to the front of the lot line than the house was denied for Patrick and Elizabeth Hensley. The application had been withdrawn, but the board is required to take definite action within 60-days or the request is automatically approved. Denial was based on earlier discussion.
