Wrestling
ï Forest Lake finished its wrestling regular season with a 31-30 defeat at the hands of Foley on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Foley, ranked No. 11 in AA, was able to rally from a 30-21 deficit by winning the final two matches by fall and major decision.

Eric Morris won his match at 103 pounds for the Rangers by a score of 3-2 while Dan Taylor won by major decision at 130. John Denney earned a 13-12 victory for the Rangers at 135 and Brandon Girtz took a 23-8 win at 140.

Jim House recorded a pin at 152 for Forest Lake while Jason Waidzulis won 8-5 at 189 and Alex Behling (215) and Brandon Engel (275) each won by pin.

Boys swimming
ï The Forest Lake boys swimming and diving team suffered a 96-82 loss to Stillwater on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Junior diver Brian Welch had Forest Lakeís only first-place finish as he finished with a score of 226.75.

Mark Sandager (100 backstroke) and Jake Morrison (100 freestyle) each had second-place finishes for the Rangers and Forest Lakeís 200 medley relay team of John Fahnhorst, Grant Robinson, Chris Docken and Jeff Sandager also finished second.

Girls basketball
ï Forest Lake tried to make a late comeback from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter but came up short in a 54-49 loss at Mounds View Friday night.

ìThis team never gives up,î Forest Lake coach Jack Bender said. ìBut, it was just a little too late.î

Lindsey Anderson finished the game with 26 points ñÝincluding four 3-pointers ñ for the Rangers while Mary Sobiech added 12 points.
