Posted: 2/12/03 Student arrested at ALC in Forest LakeA student at the Area Learning Center in Forest Lake was arrested last week on probable cause of possession of narcotics and intent to distribute on school grounds. Forest Lake police were called to the ISD 831 school at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 6 at the request of school officials. Police arrested Justin P. Troge, 19, of 10805 Stinson Ave., Chisago City. Chief of Police David Schwartz said officers recovered a plastic bag containing a half dozen white pills that had been cut in half. The pills tested positive as methamphetamine, the chief said. Troge was taken into custody and booked at the Washington County Jail, Stillwater, on probable cause for two felony charges. Schwartz said formal charges are pending for possession of methamphetamine and intent to distribute on school grounds and possession and intent to distribute methamphetamine. Troge was booked and later released, police said. The quantity of drugs recovered was described as substantial by police and weighed six to seven grams. Costly Theft Construction workers at the Arbors, the new assisted living facility next to Birchwood Health Care Center, were hit hard by thieves last week. Workers employed by Winkleman Construction of St. Cloud and Electrical Industrial Maintenance of Maple Plain reported the theft of a wide variety of construction tools on Feb. 4, police said. Forced entry to the construction building site at 704 NE 1st St. was gained and a construction trailer on the site was entered. Chief Schwartz said the loss is in excess of $10,000 from the two construction companies and the 11 employees who were victims. The loss by the Maple Plain company alone was in excess of $6000, the chief said. Police are also investigating a residential burglary in the 4800 block of N. 210th St. The home was entered sometime between Jan. 30 and Feb. 9 when the homeowner was on vacation. There was no report of missing property in the aftermath of the forced-entry burglary, police said. |
