Posted: 2/19/03 Rangersí Turry qualifies for state on uneven barsBerk Brown Rachel Turry will be making her second consecutive trip to the state gymnastics meet thanks to her performance on Saturday. Turry earned a third-place finish on uneven bars with a score of 9.55 at the Section 4AA meet at Centennial. Turry was the only Ranger to qualify for the state meet. As a team, Forest Lake finished with a score of 133.875 which earned the Rangers a sixth-place finish in the nine-team meet. As a sophomore last season, Turry qualified for state on uneven bars and finished 32nd. At the Suburban East Conference junior varsity meet, which took place recently, Forest Lake finished fifth out of eight teams. Karine Becker placed sixth in all-around, seventh on vault, 11th on bars and 10th on floor. Kelsey Callahan was eighth on vault and 13th on floor and Danielle Schminkey was fifth on vault, 13th on bars and 15th on floor. Sarah Chaussee was 10th on beam and 12th on floor for the Rangers while Katie Thomas was 11th on beam and 15th on floor. Heather Jackson and Betsy Garritsen each tied for seventh on beam while LeAnne Lindhe was sixth on vault and Mandi Pringle was seventh on vault. |
