FL Lions golf on ice is Sunday

A golf outing on ice sponsored by the Forest Lake Lions Club remains on the docket for Sunday, Feb. 2. The golf tournament will be staged on the ice directly off shore from Willows on the Water, formerly Willow Point on Third Lake.

The Forest Lake Lions are planning to have four nine-hole golf courses on the ice for the tournament. Four first place prizes of $1000 will be given for each of the four courses. Tee times will be offered between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday for the four-person teams. The golf will be played with tennis balls. Tournament age starts at 18.

The cost of the tournament is an entry donation of $50 per golfer. The donation includes nine holes of golf on ice, food and drink tickets. A buffet dinner will be served at Willows, starting at 10 a.m. Golfers are asked to bring their own clubs on Sunday. The Lions will provide the tennis balls for the winter course on ice. Along with individual players, the Lions are seeking sponsorship packages for teams and advertising.

For players, advance registration is suggested. Early registration is recommended to ensure a spot and a tee time. In the event of bad weather on Feb. 2, the contestís alternate date is Sunday, Feb. 9.
