Lake Park Development moves forward

It will be another month before the Forest Lake Economic Development Authority takes the next step on the Lake Park Development.

The Lake Park Development group presented four site plan propositions to the Forest Lake EDA Monday night with options for the location of the proposed restaurant and office complex.

The proposed facility is to be built on the municipal parking lot area on the north end of Lakeside Memorial Park.

The building was initially proposed as a 9900 square foot print two story building. To offset land costs, it was transaformed into a three story building.

In the planning process, the site of the building has been moved three to four times and the planned banquet facility was removed from the drawing board.

The city and the development group will spend the next month working on the development agreement and pull together final details regarding building design and location of the building.

To make way for parking The Forest Laker and another building, which houses American Family Insurance, will be razed.

At one point, the Forest Lake Theater Building was tied to the plans, but the EDA released the building, owned by Jackie and Dwayne Fladland, last month.

Monday night, Fladland reiterated he is to have no involvement.

ìYouíre not going to use one inch of my property,î Dwayne Fladland told the EDA.
