Posted: 7/23/03 FL police investigate theft, burglaryPolice in Forest Lake are investigating the theft of a golf cart and a garage and barn burglary. Chief of Police David Schwartz said the golf cart, owned by Don Feils, Forest Lake, was stolen from Castlewood Golf Course, 7050 Scandia Trail N. on July 21. The golf cart is valued at $1500. The golf cart was parked on the west side of the building prior to be reported missing, police said. In another area theft, Schwartz said a utility trailer valued at $1200 was reported stolen from 21800 block of Harrow Ave. N. on July 20. The trailer was parked near a garage and was taken during the night, the chief said. Schwartz said police here are also investigating a garage and barn burglary on the cityís south side earlier this month where two air compressors, miscellaneous tools, extension cords and a gas can were stolen. The total loss was estimated at more than $1000. A Shafer man was arrested and taken to jail on a series of charges stemming from a domestic incident at 655 SW 12th St. at 3:04 a.m. on July 18. Daniel A. Nelson, 32, was taken to jail on probable cause of fourth-degree burglary, criminal damage to property and fifth-degree domestic assault, the chief said. Nelson was gone from the residence on SW 12th St. when city police arrived but later arrested at his Shafer home by Chisago County deputies, the chief added. City police are also investigating the theft of a 1990 Chevrolet pickup truck sometime overnight on July 18 from 21468 Jason Ave. N. |
