FL approves comprehensive plan

The Forest Lake City Council gave preliminary approval to the combined city of Forest Lake comprehensive plan in a special meeting Monday night. The plan, which outlines growth and development in the community over the next 20 years, now will be sent to the Metropolitan Council for review. The plan was unveiled at a public hearing in May. Some changes were made in the plan related to comments made at the public hearing. The former city and township created comprehensive plans of their own in 2000 and 1999 before the municipalities officially were joined via annexation.
