ëSeven Brides for Seven Brothersí opens

Masquerís Theatre Company presents ìSeven Brides for Seven Brothersî as its first show of the 2003 summer season.

The show runs June 19-21, 26-28 at the Forest Lake High School Auditorium. Showtimes are at 7 p.m., with a 2 p.m. matinee performance scheduled for Saturday, June 21.

The musical is directed by Mike Nazzal and includes a cast of 30 talented performers.

Kat Glaesar and Paul Learned take the leads as Milly the first bride and Adam Pontipee, the oldest brother.

The Pontipee brothers are portrayed by Emilio Garcia, David Hime, Joey Partyka, Adam Wiberg, Jordan Janke and Shawn Mc Worter.

The brides are portrayed by Maria Monn, Sarah Genheimer, Nicole Bachman, Angela Vincent, Deborah Wiersma and Alison Steek.

Shakeel Khan, Brett Mattson, Andrew Tolzmann, Eric Tolzmann, Alex Musker and Chance Holt play the suitors.

Other actors include Donna Beard, Gary Monn, Geoffrey Beebe, Marti Steek, Alyse Amdahl, Heather Beard, Isaac Wiersma, Laura Amdahl, Luke Wiersma and Paul Reitzel.

Others involved with the production include assistant director and choreographer Don Zimmerman; musical director and conductor Florian Keller; dance captains Shawn McWhorter and Deborah Wiersma; costumers Amanda Busby and Donni Monn with set construction by Drew McCullough. The show is produced by Deborah Wiersma.

Tickets

Tickets are available at the door before the performance beginning a half hour before the show. Tickets also are available at the Yellow Bus, 826 South Lake Street, in the Lakes Shoppes. The Yellow Bus can be reached by calling 651-464-2112.

Adult tickets are $10, senior tickets are $9 and childrenís tickets are $6.

Other shows

The next show in the works for Masquerís is ìSherlock Holmes.î Directed by Joe Hendren, ìSherlockî will hit the stage July 10 and run for two weekends.

ìThe King and I,î directed by Dave Seaburg, will conclude the season in August, opening July 31 and running the first two weekends in August.

Masquers Theatre Company in Forest Lake and Community Services are offering a summer Saturday afternoon special. Each show of the summer season will feature a Saturday matinee for which ticket buyers can buy one ticket and get one equal or lesser value ticket free. The matinees will be presented June 21, July12, and August 2. Matinee performances begin at 2 p.m. in the Forest Lake Area High School auditorium.

Food shelf

Masquers also collecting food donations at the door to replenish local food shelves during the summer. Those attending performances are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to add to the collection.
