Music Connection hosts concert/clinic on March 25

The Music Connection, 77 SW 8th Ave., Forest Lake, has been selected to host an educational concert/clinic sponsored by legendary Marshall Guitar Amplifiers. The free event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 25. It will feature session guitarist and amp guru Rob Math. The clinician will provide playing tips and amplifier techniques for both students and professionals. Although the clinic is free, seating is limited and attendees should call the Music Connection at 651-464-5252 to reserve a seat.

Math began playing guitar at the age of 8. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he caught the attention of many top record producers and artists with his unique and soulful guitar playing, Math blends elements of ìblisteringî Texas blues, cutting edge hard rock, jazz, outside fusion and country into a style that is all his own. His use of smooth melodic lines coupled with lightning fast shredding sparks an interest in all who hear him play. As a session guitarist, he has played on recordings for Paula Abdul, O-Town, Annabella Lwin of Bow Wow Wow and Billie Myers. In addition, he is also a published songwriter (DreamWorks SKG) whose music can be heard in movies such as The Skulls 2 (Universal Pictures) as well as the WB TV show ìMaybe itís me.î

As a guitar amplification, effects and digital audio product specialist for Korg USA, Math uses his extensive live and studio experience to provide ìreal worldî applications during demonstrations and training sessions. The Music Connection was chosen to host the event because of its 22 year history of promoting music education.
