Coryell guilty on DUI charge

Dennis J Coryell, 58, Wyomingís city administrator, has entered a guilty plea in Chisago County District Court for driving under the influence of alcohol. He entered guilty pleas on Tuesday, March 11 during an appearance before Judge Douglas Swenson in Center City. Coryell was arrested in the early-morning hours of Feb. 1 on probable cause of driving under the influence and later charged with the misdemeanor offense.

Coryell was ordered to pay a $445 fine and sentenced to 45 days in jail. The jail time was suspended for two years and Coryell will be on probation for that time period. He was also ordered to participate in a Chisago County DUI clinic and go before a Mothers Against Drunk Driving impact panel. Wyoming City Council is expected to review the disposition of the court matter and decide if disciplinary action against the administrator is warranted.
