Lindstrom man dies in motorcycle crash west of I-35 on Lake Drive

A Lindstrom man was killed last Friday when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on CR-23 (Lake Drive) at the Conoco Station in Columbus Township west of I-35.

Dennis L. Mortenson, 52, was eastbound when his cycle collided with a vehicle driven by Cathy Schmidt, 41, of Edina, who was turning left to the Conoco, according to the Anoka County Sheriffís Office. The crash was reported at 5:03 p.m. on May 16.

Police said Mortenson died at the scene.

Schmidt and two juvenile passengers in her vehicle were not hurt, officials said. The crash remains under investigation.
