FL team plays for championship at Metrodome

The 7th grade Forest Lake traveling football team competed for the championship of the East Metro Football League on Monday, Nov. 3rd. The game was played in the Metrodome in Minneapolis against Mahtomedi. The game was tied in the fourth quarter at 6. After an interception by Mahtomedi at the Forest Lake 1 yard line it looked as though the game would go to overtime. Instead Mahtomedi ran a sweep to the left and the running back ran 99 yards for a touchdown. Following the touchdown, Forest Lake was unable to rally for a touchdown.
