Five candidates have been selected as finalists for the position of chief of police and director of public safety in the city of Forest Lake. The finalists are scheduled to meet in public interview sessions with members of the Forest Lake City Council and the cityís police commission on Wednesday, Nov. 19 and Thursday, Nov. 20.The five candidates are:
ï Krisondra Mienart, a lieutentant with the Woodbury Police Department.
ïAlan Pepin, police chief, city of Omaha, Omaha, NE. He is originally from Forest Lake.
ïClark Quiring, a police captain with city of Sioux Falls Police Department, Sioux Falls, SD.
ïTodd Sandell, a lieutenant with the Richfield Police Department.
ïRobert Yant, police chief, city of Marshall, Marshall, MN.
The interview process will include sessions with the council and police commission. Interview sessions begin at 5:30 p.m. on both nights with the sessions in the council chambers and the lower level meeting room at City Hall, 220 N. Lake St..
Sandell and Mienart are scheduled on Nov. 19 with Pepin, Quiring and Yant scheduled on Nov. 20. A city hall open house for the candidates is also planned on both days.
The successful candidate will replace current Chief of Police David Schwartz who will retire at the end of the year.
The city received 75 applications in its nationwide search for a replacement.
