Linda Blair makes weekend appearance at Nightmare

Linda Blair, who gained fame as the head-turning possessed 14-year-old girl in ěThe Exorcistî will make an appearance this weekend at Nightmare at Pinehaven Farm in Wyoming.

Blair, who has kept herself busy in the entertainment business long after her signature role, will be on hand to sign autographs and meet her fans 7:30-11:30 p.m. Friday, October 17 and Saturday, October 18.

Jean Sockness, coordinator of the annual Halloween event, said bringing Blair to Nightmare was an obvious choice.

ěThe Exorcistí is the number one horror film of all time,î Sockness said. ěEveryone knows her name and sheís really cool. I really like her.î

Indeed, while the film was first released in 1973, ěThe Exorcistî maintains a horror favoriteóand often is played on cable television around the Halloween season.

An Academy Award nominee, Golden Globe winner and Peopleís Choice Award winner, Blair appeared in more than 75 commercials, in television movies such as ěBorn Innocent,î ěSarah T. Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic,î ěSweet Hostageî with Martin Sheen, and ěSummer of Fear,î directed by horror talent Wes Craven.

She also has appeared in ěRoller Boogie,î ěExorcist II, The Heretic,î ěVictory at Entebbeî with Anthony Hopkins, ěUp Your Alleyî and the Leslie Nielson spoof ěRepossessed.î

Other credits include ěDouble Blast,î ěSkins,î ěRobinís Hoods,î and ěMarried With Children.î

On stage, Blair has appeared in ěIt Had to Be You,î ěWomen Behind Barsî and ěRun For Your Wife.î

Blairís latest project is the feature film, ěPrey of the Jaguarî co-starring Maxwell Caulfield and Stacey Keach.

In addition to performance, Blair is regarded as an animal advocate. A vegan, she authored the book ěGoing Vegan,î a resource for living a healthy, meat free life.

She supports animals in many facets, including selling Linda Blair memorabilia to support animal causes.

Next guest

The second celebrity guest this holiday season is David Naughton. Naughton is known for ěAmerican Werewolf in London.î He is scheduled to appear Oct. 24-25.

Tickets

The event begins Friday, Oct. 3 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 1 and is open 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

There also will be bonfire pits available by reservation.

Advance registration tickets are $12 for adults and $11 for juniors 12-years-old and younger. Admission at the door is $13. Groups of more than 20 receive a discount.
