County OKís bonds for capital work

After meeting the criteria for capital improvement bond issuance, the Washington County Board on Sept. 23 authorized financial advisor Springsted, Incorporated to receive proposals and sell a $25 million capital improvement bond issue and a $14.1 million bond refunding of the Law Enforcement Center's HRA Capital Lease Bonds. Proposals will be taken on Oct. 27, until 11 a.m., at the Springsted offices, 85 East Seventh Place, Suite 100, St. Paul. The bonds will be awarded on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the county boardís regularly scheduled meeting. Projects slated for the $25 million capital improvement bond issue include: ïDesign for reconstruction of CR-2 (W. Broadway Ave.) in Forest Lake, $500,000. ïA parking lot addition at the government center, $1.6 million; ïA second-story addition to the Law Enforcement Center, $5.3 million: ïA North Service Center Library, $5.2 million; ïAcquisition of land for a North and South Service Center, $1 million; ïDesign and construction of the two service centers , $7.6 million; ïDesign and construction for expansion of the District Court, $1.8 million; ïPark land acquisition, $2 million.
