Posted: 10/1/03 Police investigate burglaries, theftsPolice in Forest Lake are investigating a series of burglaries and theft of property reported during the past week. Chief of Police David Schwartz said Castlewood Golf Course and The Lobster Shop, 7050 Scandia Trail, were the victims of a burglary and damage to property over the weekend. On Monday, the golf course reported a burglary of a golf shack that resulted in the loss of four cases of beer, three cases of pop, four dozen golf balls, a dozen pair of golf gloves and one trash can. The adjoining restaurant reported that three of its exterior antique lights that face the golf shack had been smashed sometime overnight. Police are awaiting a full damage estimate. A snowmobile trailer valued at $1700 was stolen from the 7900 block of N. 230th St. Lane overnight on Sept. 27. Schwartz said the trailer was parked in the driveway of a home on the street. Two students at Forest Lake Elementary School on Sept. 26 reported the theft of bicycles. The bikes, both GT brands, had total value of $1000, the chief said. The burglary of an unoccupied home was reported from the 5100 block of N. 210th St. at 3 p.m., Sept. 25. The homeowner reported the loss of a grandfather clock, a saw and a chandelier with total value of $500. A burglary took place the same night on the same street from a construction site. A closed garage and home were entered. JBS Carpentry, Stacy, reported the loss of a table saw, circular saw and air compressor with total value of $1000, police said. On Sept. 23 at 8 p.m., a Scandia man reported the theft of briefcase and cell phone from a his vehicle that was in a business parking lot in the 500 block of S. Lake St. |
