Improvement brings with it wins

Steady improvement is the only explanation to the Forest Lake girls soccer teamís recent success.

There were signs of improvement in the Rangers 3-0 win over Chisago Lakes last Mon. Forest Lake was not as successful the next day against Roseville when the Raiders beat the Rangers. The Rangers got back on track Thurs. when they beat Hastings 1-0.

Laura Shoberg scored the only goal for the Rangers in their 1-0 win over Hastings.

ìIf the girls play the rest of the games like they did against Hastings, we could upset some teams,î Rangers head girls soccer coach Jeny Hurd said.
Junior goalies Jessica Meath and Jacque Nelson have been part of the Rangers success. ìJessica is doing much better and is more confident in her defense, and her injuries are healed,î Hurd said. ìJacque did a great job at filling in for Jessica while she was hurt.î

Ashley Rajdlís season is over for she will be having surgery on her ACL on Monday.

ìShe is a loss for the season but I have hope she'll come back strong next year,î Hurd said.

Rajdl may be out for the remainder of the season, but Laura McMahon has returned after an extended stay on the disabled list. ìShe is creating a lot of opportunities,î Hurd said. ìThe only thing she needs to work on is getting back in to shape.î

ìWe have been improving, our defense has kept the games close, and we have a young offensive front line but they are playing very aggressively,î Hurd said. ìThe girls needed those wins and it has given us a boost for the rest of the season.î
