Wine tasting night Oct. 10 will help St. Francis work

A night out tasting fine wines and beers will help raise money to benefit the animal rescue work of St. Francis of Assisi Animal Rescue.

On Friday, Oct. 10, SFAR will have a wine and beer tasting benefit at American Legion Post 225, 355 W. Broadway Ave., Forest Lake.

The event is sponsored by MGM Liquor Warehouse, Forest Lake. Harvest in the Vineyard is the theme.

The benefit will take place from 6:30-9 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door on Oct. 10.

Guests can sample a variety of wines and select beers, enjoy light hors díoeuvres, live music, a silent auction, raffle and take home a unique complimentary tasting glass.

Advance tickets may be purchased at MGM Liquors next to Cub Foods or at Kodiak Coffee in Forest Lake.

An excellent selection of silent auction items and gift certificates have been donated for the silent auction.

A new event for this yearís wine tasting benefit is a raffle. St. Francis members are selling tickets at $2 each for a chance to win a grand prize of two-round trip airline tickets. Other top raffle prizes include a 32-inch flat screen color television and a case of premium wines.

St. Francis of Assisi Animal Rescue is a community organization committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of unwanted companion animals throughout the area. The organization works to relieve the pet over population problem by spaying or neutering all companion animals.
