Posted: 10/8/03 Absentee ballots available for school district electionResidents of ISD 831 who need to vote by absentee ballot in the upcoming Nov. 4 election may now do so. The school district this week said it is prepared to handle absentee ballots for most of the local precincts. There is one exception. Residents of the city of Lino Lakes living within ISD 831 are required to cast absentee ballots in Lino Lakes because that city has a municipal election on Nov. 4. Residents of the school district may vote absentee if they are: ïAbsent from the precinct on election day; ïIll or disabled; ïReligious discipline or observance of religious holiday; ïAre an election judge in another precinct. With the exception of Lino Lakes residents, district residents can cast absentee ballots at the District Office Building, 6100 N. 210th St. between the hours of 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Ballot details On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the school district will elect five members to the school board and vote on two levy questions. One levy question is a request to approve an excess operating levy that will raise $2 million a year for five years for general fund support. A second question is a capital projects levy to raise $2 million a year for five years to support technology needs. In the school board election, incumbents Bill Bresin, Joe Grafft and Robert Rapheal have filed for election to four-year board terms and are unopposed. Keith Dunham has filed for the fourth four-year seat and is also unopposed. Karen Morehead, also an incumbent, has filed for election for the final two years of the Rebecca Otto term. Morehead is unopposed. |
