Girls soccer wins first game

The Forest Lake High School girls soccer team started their season with a 3-0 victory over Buffalo.
After the Buffalo victory, Forest Lake went on to lose to Blaine Monday 2-0.

The Forest Lake girls soccer team has itís goals set on beating the teams they should beat, and competing strong against some of the tougher teams on their schedule. The team hopes a new strategy that takes advantage of the teamís speed will help produce more goals and victories.

Forest Lake opened Suburban East Conference play Tuesday night when they played White Bear Lake. Their home opener is Sept. 9 when they host Woodbury at 7 p.m. The White Bear Lake game marks the beginning of an SEC schedule that wonít see a non conference team until the very last game of the season when Forest Lake faces St. Francis in a tune up before the section playoffs.
