News EditorA pair of shooting incidents are under investigation in Forest Lake. One incident involved a house being struck by a gunshot, Police Chief Clark Quiring said.
On Monday, Quiring said police were called to the 9200 block of 227th St. Ct. N. where a homeowner reported finding a bullet hole in his home.
The homeowner had been gone for four days and returned to find the damage, the chief said. Investigators said a bullet of yet-to-be-determined caliber struck the north side of the homeownerís garage, passed through the garage, entered the kitchen and continued down a hallway where it hit a bedroom wall.
No one was at home at the time of the incident, the chief said.
In the second gun incident, a homeowner living near July Ave. N. and 180th St. N. reported to police on Sept. 5 that someone was shooting near the home and scaring horses on the property.
Quiring said police talked to both parties and turned the matter over to conservation officers from the Department of Natural Resources for resolution. The incident may have involved .22 caliber target practice or shotguns with the early metro goose season, the chief said.
