High school will get new fire alarms
A new fire alarm system for Forest Lake High School has been approved. The school board on Monday, April 5 voted 6-0 with one member absent to award Weber Electric the contract for installation of a fully addressable fire alarm system at the high school. Cost of the project is $166,300. Funds for the work will come through a health and safety tax levy. The project has been approved by the state for this special funding vehicle, school officials said. The building upgrade will be completed this summer. Weber Electric was the low bidder among four firms seeking the contract. Bids ranged from the low tally of $166,300 to $234,663.
