Letter carriers food drive May 8

Letter carriers in the Forest Lake area will be taking part in the annual national food drive Saturday, May 8. Items collected will be donated to area food shelves. This year marks the 12th annual National Association of Letter Carriersí National Food Drive. On May 8, residents can take part by placing a bag with non-perishable food items near their mailbox and letter carriers will do the rest. Carriers will bring the food back to the Post Office and it will be transferred to local food shelves and food banks. Last May in the United States, letter carriers collected and delivered 61.7 million pounds of food to local food banks, including a one million pound donation from Campbell Soup.
