The eighth Annual Benson Great Hall Concert featuring the Forest Lake Area High School Symphonic Winds under the direction of Richard Hahn and the Concert Choir under the direction of Jim Lindstrom will be performed at the Benson Great Hall on the campus of Bethel College and Seminary 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 16.This concert has become an event that has seen increased attendance over the eight years of its existence. This year will again highlight both groups as they perform individual sets of music as well as combine for the finale.
The student musicians have been working on their music literature for several weeks and are in the process of fine tuning and polishing the numbers in preparation for the concert. Many new and intriguing ideas have been incorporated into this yearís concert. Rich Hahn and Jim Lindstrom said they both feel one of the challenges they face every year is to try and come up with something new and unique for each concert. This yearís concert will bring some new and exciting music and content to the event. The two groups have already had rehearsals on this yearís finale.
The Forest Lake American Legion Post #225 is sponsoring the reception following the concert this year. The Postís involvement is a fabulous addition to the entire evening. Music will also be provided during the reception.
Parents and friends of students who performed in the first Bethel Concert continue to come to this very special event.

The Forest Lake American Legion Post 225 will help sponsor this yearís annual Benson Great Hall Concert which is performed by the Area High Schoolís Symphonic Winds.
The American Legion has agreed to sponsor the reception following the concert. The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 16 at The Benson Great Hall on the campus of Bethel College and Seminary.
The two groups will perform a variety of music ranging from the Renaissance to the Contemporary. The Symphonic Winds and Concert Choir are in the final stages of polishing their music for the performance.
Music will be performed making use of the entire hall, which is known as one of the finest acoustical halls in the Twin Cities area. The concert will conclude with two selections performed by the combined groups, followed by the reception.
