Open house for Hugo road Aug. 30
Washington County, Anoka County, the cities of Hugo and Lino Lakes, along with their consultant TKDA, are completing environmental studies and design for CR-14/8 between I-35E and US-61. A public informational meeting about the project will be conducted Monday, Aug. 30, from 4-7 p.m. at Hugo City Hall, 14669 Fitzgerald Ave. N. The meeting will be conducted in an informal open house format. There will be no formal presentation. Purpose of the meeting is to provide anyone interested in the project with an opportunity to review and comment on the preliminary plans being developed. Representatives from the communities and the consultant will be available to answer questions, receive comments, and provide the latest project information. Proposed improvements include expanding the roadway to four lanes and adding turn lanes, a center median, a pedestrian/bicycle path, and new drainage systems. The tentative schedule includes property acquisition, permits, and approvals being completed by early 2005. Construction is expected to begin during the summer of 2005 and be completed by the fall of 2006 over two construction seasons.
