Ceremony tonight for Wyoming library
A ground breaking ceremony will take place in Wyoming tonight (Thursday) for the new regional library. Members of the Wyoming Library Society will host the event at 7 p.m. on the site adjacent to the Wyoming Municipal Building. Local and county leaders will attend the event. The new East Central Regional branch library is one of three to be constructed in Chisago County. The facility is being named in memory of the late Myles Giese, a long-time Wyoming banker. The Chisago County Board recently voted to sell $6.5 million in library construction bonds to finance construction of the facilities. In addition to Wyoming, libraries are planned in North Branch and the Chisago Lakes area. The city of Wyoming is providing the land for the facility and the local library society is assisting with local fund-raising. Construction is slated to begin in Wyoming on Thursday, Aug. 12.
