Abress is township leader of the year

Monica Abress, a Lent Town Board supervisor, has been honored by the Minnesota Association of Townships as a ìMinnesota Township Leader of the Year.î Abress was honored in the category of 400 and over population. The Leader of the Year award recognizes accomplished township officers nominated by their peers and chosen by an independent panel of judges. The award was presented by Minnesota Association of Townships President Loren Ingebretsen at the associationís annual conference at the St. Cloud Civic Center on Nov. 19. Abress was first elected to the Lent Town Board in 1990 and has served as town board chair the past seven years. She has served the past five years as the District 7 director for the Minnesota Association of Township.
