Police notes
In other police notes, Quiring said all went well with the Golden Rainbow Ice Fishing contest that drew an estimated 4000 contestants. The chief said management of the park and business area downtown went well and the Northland Mall parking area was used for about 600 vehicles of contestants who rode buses to the lake.
ïThe chief said the department received a half dozen reports of vandalism to mail boxes along Harrow Avenue south of TH-97 over the weekend. Quiring said it appeared someone used a vehicle to damage the mail boxes.
ïPolice ticketed a North Branch man with disorderly conduct following a rolling case of road rage that started on northbound I-35 at 11:16 p.m. Sunday. The incident continued from the freeway to the Holiday Station, 1209 W. Broadway. Police later stopped the North Branch man on N. Lake St. and a ticket was issued, police said.
ïQuiring reported city police last Friday conducted a snowmobile detail along the Hardwood Creek trail where speed was monitored. The speed limit along the trail is 25 miles an hour. Four snowmobile operators were issued tickets for speeding violations, the chief said.
