Penny drive will aid cancer research

Students at Southwest Junior High School in Forest Lake are participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Societyís Pennies for Patients program this month. The program raises funds to find cures for the blood cancers: leukemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma, and to help patients with these diseases. The drive at Southwest Junior High started Monday, Feb. 9 and continues through Friday, Feb. 27. The class collecting the most pennies and other spare change will receive a party.
