Fire damages Forest Lake home

Bruce Wightman, Forest Lake assistant fire chief, commands the scene at 7490 N. 214th St. on Tuesday where volunteers from Forest Lake, Scandia, Hugo and Wyoming fire departments battled a house fire. The call came in shortly after 1:30 p.m., said Sgt. Greg Weiss of the Forest Lake Police Department. Weiss said the fast-action by the first Forest Lake fire crew on the scene quickly knocked down the blaze. Home owner Kelly Passeretti was at home when the blaze broke out, but safely escaped the house, Weiss said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage was extensive.
